Road, Gravel and Mountain Bicycling in Prineville
One of Central Oregon’s best bicycling destinations is Prineville. Prineville bicycling is directly on the Adventure Cycling TransAM route as well as the Oregon Outback. The local mountain bike advocacy group, COTA, has been hard at work creating a new 3-mile mountain bike trail that you can easily access from town.
The Good Bike shop is fueling much of the Prineville bicycling scene. The Good Bike is a next-wave bike shop, serving beer and coffee, in addition to selling a lot of hard tail mountain bikes to local residents. Additionally, James offers gravel, road and mountain bike tours on Oregon’s Scenic Bikeways. Central Oregon has four of Oregon’s 12 Scenic Bikeways which showcases some of the most beautiful country in the world. At the end of the long day’s ride, enjoy a beer on Good Bike’s great outdoor patio.
Ochoco Gravel Roubaix Race
Longhorn Ridge is proud to sponsor the first annual Ochoco Gravel Roubaix race in Prineville. Race director Natalie Good has planned a gravel bicycle race in scenic Central Oregon featuring supported 120 and 45 mile gravel loops through the Ochoco National Forest and a 10 mile road ride. Another Good reason bicycling in Prineville is thriving.
